My recent dive trip to Cayman Brac was a big success. I was there as part of a group called Dive Pirates . There were several other veterans there: some as first time divers, some as newly injured, some as newly paralyzed and some handi-divers like myself who have been diving for some time already.

Perhaps one of the most famous new divers is a young lady who lost her arm as a result of injuries sustained in an RPG attack in Iraq a few years ago. One account of her story is at http://www.sdhoc.com/main/articles/sandieganselsewhere/Halfakerdawn

There were several other new divers that were no less inspiring with their courage; all were enthralled with the experience.

The photos of the trip are at http://picasaweb.google.com/SunkenSailor/DivePiratesBracReef2008?authkey=p-wr9INyDkU

I wrote a little on my blog but probably that is not the style for our AZPVA newsletter, so I'll get to work on something more appropriate. Blog entry is entitled “ Dive Pirates in Cayman Brac” and can be found at www.handi-divers.com then click on Handi-Blog.

Thanks again for your work with AZPVA.

Sincerely

-pete
